A geometric golden form surrounds and envelops an organic body, at once protecting and confining it. Its shape evokes a frame and a restraint and – through its golden colour – a gilded cage: a place of shelter, but also of captivity. The concealed inner part, reminiscent of a bird, remains within this structure like a living creature imprisoned in a space created for its protection. “Exposition” thus becomes a play between freedom and control, protection and possession. Despite the enclosure, the relationship between the two elements remains dynamic: it is the tension between them, rather than the subordination of one to the other, that gives the work its strength.
