In my work I focus on the relationship between form, space and movement. I am interested in the moment when a static structure begins to suggest the possibility of motion, and a heavy material appears light and suspended in space.
For me, geometry is a tool of reduction and order, which I often confront with organic forms, a soft line and controlled deformation. I work with basic elements — line, plane and solid — building from their mutual relations forms that are economical yet full of inner tension. I do not depict movement literally. I try to evoke its impression through direction, proportion, rhythm and the arrangement of elements.
I work primarily with steel — a heavy, durable material associated with construction. Its physical obviousness is my starting point. I am interested in the possibility of breaking it: creating an object whose real weight contradicts its visual lightness, whose stability contradicts a sense of potential movement, and whose construction contradicts an impression of suspension.
I treat sculpture as a system of tensions and balances. Every element affects the others, and a small change of proportion, direction or centre of gravity can change how the whole form is perceived. It is on this border between physical stillness and visual movement that I find the essence of my work.
I deliberately limit my means of expression. Simplicity is not an end in itself, but a way of focusing attention on the relations within the form. Execution matters as much as the idea — precision of cutting, proportions, the rhythm of elements and the quality of joints are not merely technical matters, but part of the sculpture’s expression.
I strive to create forms that are simple, clear and economical, in which construction is no longer only a way of building an object but becomes a carrier of tension, balance and potential movement.
