At first glance, the work presents a calm, almost idyllic landscape, yet its loose structure is cut through by ordered, dynamic planes of a hard, steely character. Their rhythm and direction introduce tension, discipline and an imposed order into the composition – evoking the urban experience of space, though without any literal reference to architecture. The organic, patinated frame belongs to the realm of nature and time, while at the same time merging with the cool construction within. The neon, recalling the industrial quality of light, reinforces this ambiguity. The landscape thus becomes a space in which nature and construction continually interpenetrate, creating an image of apparent calm disturbed by human presence.
